In this article, I am going to be talking about something important that not that many spiritual workers talk about. The topic is, are you chosen to do the work? I know this is not going to be a popular subject because a lot of people want to start spiritual work, whether it be Hoodoo, Santería, Palo Mayombe, or any other spiritual practice. The quick answer to this is no, not everyone is called to do this type of work, but just because you are not called to the work, it doesn't mean that you can't do it.
Now, I know people who are reading this may be up in arms about that. However, I need to explain. If you are someone who wants to get into spiritual work and you don’t necessarily have any spiritual background, then no. You can learn about different spiritual practices, and you can even do a little bit of spiritual work, but the work that will create great change for the better or worse cannot happen and will not work. People, when they learn about this work, I find tend to create fake spiritual backgrounds which are not true, and they want to sell work and courses online for a lot of money. I think if you are this personal, then you don’t truly have the ashe to power the work, so it will not transition from the spiritual to the physical.
I have seen this a few times, where people who shouldn’t take up the work try to, despite the fact they are not called to the work. You have to realize that everyone cannot be a spiritual worker which is okay, but you have to know that if you force a path that is not destined for you, it can cause very negative effects on your life.
Now that I say that, I want people who are learning things such as how to protect themselves, that is fine, and it is something I would actually encourage you to do. If you want to bring more money or love into your life that is what the knowledge is here for. However, I have met people on my journey who have tried to go down a spiritual path, and they were not called to it, and what happened was misfortune fell upon their lives because this was not the path they were meant to go. Also, with a spiritual life, you are working with the spirit, your own spirit, the spirits of the dearly departed, and other spirits who resonate with you. You have to be of service to the spirit, too. That is a huge change to your regular life, and are you willing to make the changes that are necessary to walk down this path?
So, with this article, what am I calling you to do? I am calling you to understand what these spiritual practices and beliefs are, to find someone who is reputable, and seek the knowledge from a respected elder. During this process, I will assure you that you are going to find people who are charlatans and scam artists; it is unfortunate, but true. There are too many scam artists in this community who will take your money to enrich themselves. So what I am saying is to understand more about the craft, and to even develop a spiritual routine, such as monthly spiritual cleansing baths, or daily prayer for protection.
